I'm 27 Today
By Arami Team · 9/22/2026
Whenever you yell at me, just remember that you are yelling at that precious girl in the picture. In all seriousness, I’m really turning 27 today! That means 27 years ago, I came into the world open-eyed and unaware of what was to come. What does it even mean to be 27? Are you considered old or young? Will people have new expectations of you? Should you have different expectations for yourself? Questions like these make turning a new age scary, but today I’m joyful. I pray that I give myself space to figure these things out. I don’t automatically have to know the answers to these questions 8 hours into my new age, but then again, when should I know the answers to these questions? :) Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do at 27? Am I still considered to be living in my youth? Lol... let me know now before time runs out.
Besides raising my anxiety to the roof with questions, I need to set some goals for myself (but won’t that also raise my anxiety?). These are the things I hope change about me as I blossom into a mature flower that hopefully one day conquers her fears and lives in a world with no regrets.
In my 27th year of life I pray that:
- I’m no longer shy/timid.
- I give things a try instead of giving up easily.
- I worry less about people's perception of me.
- I speak up and stand up for myself more.
- I will stop saying “I'm gonna kill myself” after every minor thought, memory, or inconvenience... of course this is hypothetically speaking, .
- I learn how to make oatmeal... finally.
- I stick to something and see it through completely.
Happy birthday, Arami! I love you!
